We respect and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on their land and commit to building a brighter future together.

An Acknowledgement of Country is a way to show respect for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The traditional custodians of the unceded land, now known as Australia, Fiona was born on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung land.

We gratefully acknowledge the Native Peoples on whose ancestral homelands we conduct business, as well as the diverse and vibrant Native communities who make their home here today. The District Fishwife is in Washington D.C. and sits on the unceded ancestral lands of the Anacostans (also documented as Nacotchtank) Ben was born on the unceded ancestral lands of the Council of the Three Fires--comprised of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. The Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac, Fox, Kickapoo, and Illinois Nations also called the area home.
